Private, Capt. Thomas Keyser's Boy Company of Page County, in the spring of 1864. He was most likely not a volunteer, and was more than likely conscripted under the third Confederate Conscript Act. Enrolled, at 17 years of age, 5/4/1864 in 2nd Co. M, 62nd Virginia Mounted Infantry. Present through 12/31/1864. No further record. Attended the 1913 Gettysburg reunion. Never married, but had at least one child with Christina Ester Good (1847-1890), daughter of Noah and Mary Stoneberger Good. Though he did not serve at the battle of Gettysburg, he, along with many other Page County Confederates, attended the 50th reunion of Gettysburg held in 1913.
