Their youngest son, Andrew Jackson was born in 1841, and five years later David and Jane moved their family to Clark Co., Illinois where they lived out the remainder of their days.
In 1855, there was an outbreak of influenza, which swept through Illinois, killing over 20,000 people in less than three months. By this time, Jane had passes away, and David succumbed to the epidemic. Andrew Jackson became very ill, but recovered.
