Miss Georgiana Wilkins married John Frazier Bussey on 6 April 1856 at Pike County, Georgia.

Enlisted Confederate Army on 4 March 1862. He served in Company H, of 44th Georgia Regular Volunteers in the Army of Northern Virginia under Gen. Robert E. Lee. John Bussey was discharged in March 1865 after being captured on 10 May 1864 at Spottsylvania Courthouse. He was paroled in February 1865 at Fort Delaware, Delaware, exchanged on 7 March 1865, and was receipted for at Boulware & Cox's Wharves, James River, Virginia, March 10-12, 1865.

After the close of the War, John F. Bussey, who was then a resident of Pike County, Georgia, moved his home to Texas.
