Mildred, age 85, of Oregon, died at St. Mary's Hospital on Friday. She was born to Peter & Jennie (Hansen) Larsen. She was baptized, confirmed and a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She married Edwin P. Christensen on March 19, 1938, in Brooklyn and made their home on the family farm for over 62 years. She always had the coffeepot on and plenty of homemade baked goods for anyone who stopped. She was an active member of the Naomi Circle at church. She is survived by her children, Lee (Sharon) of Oregon, WI, Neal of Merrill, Earl (Joanne) of Brooklyn, WI, and Ann (David) Baumgartner of Mt. Horeb, WI; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; a sister, Elsi Marks of Dane; sisters-in-law, Miriam and Clarice Christensen of Oregon, WI; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a great-grandchild, Jessica; step-grandchild, Randy; and brother-in-law, Delmore Marks. Funeral services were held on Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Oregon at with the Rev. Steven Ristau-Hanson presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. John's Lutheran Church. Gunderson Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
