KANSAS CITY, Mo. --- Velda D. Barron, 74, Kansas City, Mo., died Oct. 25, 2001, at a Kansas City, Mo., hospital.

Mrs. Barron worked at Columbia Studio in Kansas City and also had been a legal secretary.

She was born May 27, 1927, near Ozawkie, the daughter of Walter and Myrtle Nesbitt. She graduated from Ozawkie High School in 1945 and attended college in Kansas City, Mo.

She married B. Les Barron in May 1950. He survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Michael Barron, Augusta, Maine, and Kevin Barron, Paola; two sisters, Helen, Lee's Summit, Mo., and Dorothy Hendrix, Topeka; a brother, Ronald "Bud" Nesbitt, Oskaloosa; and six grandchildren.

Services were at Sheil Colonial Chapel in Kansas City, Mo. Burial was in Ozawkie Cemetery.
