She was born on April 14, 1927, in Madison, the daughter of the late Pete Lewis Nicholson an Ida May Sisk Nicholson and wife of the late Harry K. Jenkins. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Richard Kermit Jenkins and Ronald Harris Jenkins; two brothers, Pursel and James Nicholson; and four sisters, Gladys Dodson, Mabel Woodward, Nina Cook and Dilley Lillard.
Mrs. Jenkins was a member of Thoroughfare Bible Church at Leon and retired from the Madison County School System cafeteria.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Sue Jenkins Jarrell, of Madison; a son, Douglas Wayne Jenkins, of Madison; a brother, Sam Nicholson of Madison; a sister, Marie Clore of Madison; and five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 13, 2010, at the Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison with interment at Etlan Cemetery.
