STAUNTON - Annie Beatrice (White) Arehart, 92, widow of Carey Denham Arehart, of 31 Woodlee Road, died Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, in Augusta Health, Fishersville.

She was born Feb. 24, 1917, in Campbell County, a daughter of the late Percy Roscoe and Carrie (Stevens) White.

Mrs. Arehart was a member of Marquis Memorial United Methodist Church for 82 years. She started teaching Sunday school at age 16 and taught for 60 years. She was a youth leader for many years and was a lifetime member of United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Church choir and was Financial Secretary for many years.

In addition to her husband, who preceded her in death on Sept. 29, 1994, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen Stover.

Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Carey B. and Brenda J. Arehart of Staunton; a sister, Elizabeth Croft of Staunton; two grandchildren, Michelle (Arehart) Yeago and her husband, Jeremy, of Staunton and Jason Arehart of New Market; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, in Marquis Memorial United Methodist Church by the Rev. C. Douglas Akers. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, 2010 in the Henry Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, 2835 Shutterlee Mill Road.
