Betty Mathena Austin, 63, died Saturday, Oct. 5, 1996, in Maryview Hospital. She was a native of Bartley, W.Va., and was a member of Park View United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Beverly Bruce Austin; two daughters, Vickie A. Doxey of Portsmouth and Peggy A. Davenport of Manteo, NC; a brother, Clarence A. Mathena Jr. of Chesapeake; and five grandchildren, Megan, Dawn and Amy Davenport, Nicole and Keith Doxey Jr. Graveside service will be conducted.
