The oldest daughter of George Macum McElmurry and Nelia (Carpenter) McElmurry. Born in Battles, Arkansas 1909. She was the oldest of 7 children. She taught school 2 years in a rural school in between Belvidere and Greensburg Kansas. She married John Gillis Reuter in November 1929 and their son was born in 1930 in Pratt, Kansas. Moved from Santa Fe, New Mexico to Burbank California in May of 1940 and they both worked at Lockheed Aircraft until retirement age. John died in 1973 of cancer and my aunt writes he was a devoted husband and father. We had a wonderful life together. They had one grandson Joseph.
