George Edward Boyle, 81, of Merritt Island, FL, beloved husband of Marjorie Joan Boyle, passed away on Tuesday (January 19, 2010).


He was born in Hartford on August 19, 1928, son of the late George and Mary (Emmett) Boyle.


He graduated from Hartford Public High School and served in the United States Navy for two years. Upon his return, he went to Hillyer College. He was employed with IBM for thirty-five years, retiring in 1987.


Besides his wife, he is survived by four sons, Kevin and his wife Sue of Northford, Barry and his partner Leigh of Storrs, Brian and his partner Luis of Brooklyn, NY, and Terrence of Lebanon; five grandchildren, Brendan, Kristen, Ashley, Jennifer, and James Boyle; three great-grandchildren, Brenna, Brady, and Benjamin Boyle. He also leaves a sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Jack Griffin of West Hartford, a sister-in-law and brother-in-law Pat and Ben Gegen of Wichita, KS. In addition, he leaves the mother of his children Doris McGuire Boyle of Berlin.


A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial celebrating George's life will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Paul Church, 2577 Main Street, Glastonbury.
Interment will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery, Hopewell Road, South Glastonbury, CT.
George's family will receive relatives and friends at St. Paul's Church on Wednesday morning from 9:00-10:00 a.m.
