He was always called Jack by his family. He never knew that his first name was John until he enlisted in the military during WWII.

Served WWII with 11th Airborne Division, 511th Parachute Infantry - paramedic - South Pacific; Phillipines, Luzon Island, Los Banos raid. Tec3 (E6) when he got out of the service. Graduated from Purdue University with BS in Chemistry. Worked for DuPont in Seaford, DE & Chattanooga, TN. Died of Pancreatic Cancer. Buried with 1st wife Margaret (Margo) in Arlington.
