George Kechter Jr.
George Kechter Jr., of 500 Stover St., died Sunday in Poudre Valley Hospital after a brief illness. He was 80.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Warren-Bohlender Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Fred Edmonds will officiate. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery.
Mr. Kechter was born Sept 14, 1899, in Walter, Russia. He married Louise Bath here Feb 24, 1923. She survives.
He was a year old when his family came to the United States. Mr. Kechter lived in Colorado most of his life.
He was retired, and previously had farmed, worked in construction and was a maintenance worker at Colorado State University. He was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church.
Survivors are four sons, Raymond, Richard, Vernon and Harvey, all of Fort Collins; two daughters, Lucille Sipes of Fort Collins and Edna Fritzler of Laramie, Wyo.; a brother, Jake of Fort Collins; three sisters, Mary Honstein of Fort Collins, Lena Waag of Fort Collins and Lydia Nordstrom of San Carlos, Calif.; 16 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
