Born in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late Walter Franklin and Nancy (Cooper) Kelley.
Anna Belle was a Wicomico High School graduate, Class of 1944. She worked with her husband, Louis M. Carey, in the family business, N.W. Carey & Sons, until their retirement. She was very active in St. John's United Methodist Church and organizing high school reunions. She was a member of AARP and Peninsula Partners. She enjoyed walking with a group of friends at the Center at Salisbury. Annabelle and Louis enjoyed the many bus trips across the United States.
She is survived by her loving husband, Louis M. Carey, whom she would have been married to for 60 years on Dec. 13. A son, L.M. Carey Jr. and his wife, Lynne, of Fruitland; a sister-in-law, Rachel Carey McKenzie of Fruitland; nieces, Carolyn Carey Senter and her husband, Jerry Wayne, of Salisbury, Becky Olmstead and her husband, Varner, of North Carolina; nephews, Richard N. Carey Jr. and his wife, Irene, of Mount Vernon, Randy Bloxom and his wife, Nancy, of Eden, Duffy McKenzie and his wife, Shirley, of Mississippi and Pat McKenzie and his wife, Anita, of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Etta Bloxom, and brothers-in-law, Duffy McKenzie, Richard N. Carey and William R. Bloxom.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. John's United Methodist Church in Fruitland. Friends may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Holloway Funeral Home P.A., and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church. The Rev. Paul Sherwood will officiate. Interment will be Friday in St John's United Methodist Church Cemetery in Fruitland.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made in her memory to St. John's United Methodist Church, 312 East Main Street, Fruitland, Md. 21826.
