Victor Edwin Paavola, 82, died Sunday May 15, 1960 at the Cook Community Hospital. Born September 3, 1877 in Soini, Vassan Laani, Finland, he came to this country in 1899 to Chisholm. In 1910 he moved to Willow Valley Township.

On May 26, 1901 he married Elizabeth "Lizzie" Kaisa Aho in Chisholm, Minnesota.

He was a member of the Apostolic Lutheran congregation.
Victor became a United States citizen on November 15, 1924 in Virginia, St. Louis County, Minnesota. Victor and Lizzie were blessed with 11 children: Lola Edith (1904-1974), Jennie Marie (1906-1991), Ida Alina (1907-1984), Carl Victor (1909-1990), George Rudolph (1911-1958), Helmi Elizabeth (1913), Wayne Albert (1915-1979), Ellen (1917-1997), Edwin John (1919-1983), Elmer (1922-1995), William Adolph (1924-1975)

He was preceded in death by his brother Henry Paavola (1889-1957) - also buried at Willow Valley Cemetery - Memorial #81126139. Their father Charles Paavola is buried at Oneota Cemetery in Duluth, St. Louis, Minnesota. Their mother, Johanna Paavola died in Finland in 1917 and is buried there.
