Joel H. Tudor and Lucy Morton married in Madison Co. KY; bond date 7 Sept. 1840; return 9 Sept. 1840 ("Madison Co., KY Marriage Records, Vol. 2, 1823-1851" Pg 76) They had one daughter, Nancy Quinn Tudor, and Lucy died in 1841. (See memorial for Lucy Jane Morton Tudor.)

Joel H. Tudor married Emily Coyle in Madison Co., KY; 9 Aug. 1845 bond date; bondsman Simeon Dalton; consent Davis Coyle, father of bride; return 14 Aug. 1845 ("Madison Co., KY Marriage Records, Vol. 2, 1823-1851" Pg 76)

Joel and Emily were enumerated in Dubuque Co., IA 1850, 1856, and 1870 census. In the census of 1875, 1880, and 1900 they resided in Marshall Co., KS.

Oliver S. Lesslie and his wife, Charlott Lesslie of Marshall Co., KS sold to Martin Holman, E. F. Jones, O. S. Lesslie, L. P. Holmes, and Joel H. Tudor, Directors of Cemetery Mt. Hope of Marshall Co., KS for $5, one square acre exclusive of the highway being in the SW corner of NW 1/4 of Sec. 22, Twp. 5, Range 5 East.
Note: The reading of "Holman" has been confirmed, although "Hohman" is a possible interpretation and possibly the intented surname.

DIED.
Mr. J. H. Tudor at the home of his daughter Mrs. M. Snodgras on Clear Fork Saturday morning December 17, 1904 age 88 years, one month and 15 days.
He was born in Madison Co. Kentucky Nov. 2nd 1816, he married Miss Emily Coyle in 1845 moved to Iowa in 1850 lived their (sic) til 1873 when he moved to Marshall Co. Kansas, resided on the farm South of town til 1891, when he moved too (sic) Frankfort in 1892; his wife died since then: he has made has home with his two daughters, Mrs. Hohman and Mrs. Snodgrass. Deceased had four children who survive him, Mrs. Hohman Mrs. Snodgras (sic) and J. H. Tudor Jr. and Robert deceased and one brother V. K. Tudor living in Kentucky and one sister Mrs. Cummings, living here. Deceased was a faithful member of the Christian church for 44 years and died strong in the faith.
The funeral services were conducted by Elder Anderson and the body was laid to rest in LaGrange cemetery beside his wife.

The sincere thanks of the family are hereby extended to all for their kindness and assistance. They feel that nothing was left undone that neighbors and friends could do in this sickness and death. "Death is separation but he that lives and believes in Me shall never die."
