Services Today for Mrs. Maloney
Funeral services were held at three o'clock this afternoon for Mrs. Josie Walters Maloney, 90, who died at her home southeast of Granbury early Wednesday morning. She had lived for the last sixty years in the home where death came to her after an illness of several weeks.
Mrs. Maloney was born in Hood County and had made her home here throughout her life. She was the widow of A. A. Maloney, who passed away in 1940.
Rev. Billy Frazier and Rev. James H. Dean conducted the last rites for this beloved citizen, whom many affectionately called "Aunt Josie". The Acton Baptist Church, where the services were held, was filled with friends and relatives.
Mrs. Maloney is survived by one brother, W. C. Walters of Granbury; two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Durant of Granbury and Mrs. E.G. Holmes of Fort Worth, and a large number of nieces and nephews.
Interment was in the Acton Cemetery, the Estes Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were Allen Eades, Dick Rash, Albert Porter, W. E. Jackson, Lee Clyatt and Albert Stroud.
