Catherine Elizabeth Holmes, 71, of Harpers Ferry, WV, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2010, at Winchester Medical Center.
Born on August 26, 1938, in Marion, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Nellie Church.
She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her loving husband, James O. Holmes, at home; two daughters, Jeannie Bond and husband, Greg, of Martinsburg, and Carolyn Payne and husband, Jerry, of Winchester; two sons, Dean Holmes and wife, Pat, of Winchester, and Richard Holmes and wife, Denise, of Harpers Ferry; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one brother and four sisters.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Alfrieda Holmes, and four sisters.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 18, 2010, at the Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, US 340 at Halltown Road, Charles Town/Harpers Ferry, with Pastor Thomas Hoffmaster, Pastor Harold Jones and Pastor Bill Wilson officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
