Ethel Cleo Adkins, 74, of Greasy Camp Street, Shelbiana, died Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, at her home.
She was born in Pike County, Feb. 27, 1935, the daughter of the late Stallard and Alma (Adkins) Adkins.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Chloe Creek Old Regular Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Danny Adkins; her second husband, Riley Adkins; four brothers, Phillip Adkins, Kenneth Adkins, Vernon Adkins, Reed Adkins; and two sisters, Geraldine Hopkins and Dora Robinson.
She is survived by four sons, Danny Adkins of Dry Fork of Shelbiana, Duran "Dukie" Adkins of Tennessee, GaryDean Adkins and James Burlin Adkins, both of Greasy Creek; one daughter, Elizabeth Kaye Ray of Greasy Creek; one brother, Harlan Adkins of Greasy Creek; two sisters, Shirley Dials of Greasy Creek and Ruth Clevenger of Pikeville; 12 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, in the Roberts Funeral Home Chapel with Bob Justice, Herman West, Glen Hall, Glen Bentley, John B. Hamilton and others officiating. Burial followed in the Annie E. Young Cemetery, Chloe Creek. Arrangements were under direction of Roberts Funeral Home of Robinson Creek.
