MEXICAN SPRINGS — Funeral services for Norman L. Becenti, 56, will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 12, at Rollie Mortuary Palm Chapel, Gallup.

Marvin Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Lone Pine Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-5 p.m., today, Jan. 11, at Rollie Mortuary.

Becenti died Jan. 7, 2010, in Albuquerque. He was born Feb. 4, 1953, in Gallup, into the Folded Arms People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.

Becenti enjoyed playing basketball, going to rodeos, doing track and field, fishing, hunting, playing cards, gambling at casinos and being with family.

Survivors include his wife, Genieva Y. Becenti; sons, Berkley Becenti, Nolan Becenti; daughter, Michael Davis; mother, Caroline B. Becenti; brothers, Steven Becenti, Darryl Becenti; sisters, Gloria Damon, Arlene B. Mitchell, Ernestine Yazzie, Marsha Barney, Roberta Becenti, Dorothea Becenti, Cheryl Becenti; seven grandchildren.

Becenti was preceded in death by his father, Ernest D. Becenti; sister, Elvira C. Morris; grandparents, Freida and Walter Bitsie Sr., Lizzie and David Becenti.

Pallbearers will be Carols Becenti, Carlin Becenti, Donnie Barney, Rodney Begay, Kendall Mitchell, Kyle D. Becenti.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Mexican Springs Chapter, following services.
