Joshua Cory Barber of West Caln

Joshua Cory Barber, 18, of West Caln, died Monday, May 28, 2007, as the result of an automobile accident.
Born on Feb. 21, 1989, Joshua was the son of Darryl N. and Payton A. Stone Barber.

Joshua studied masonry at the Brandywine Center for Arts and Technology and would have graduated May 31, 2007. He was well-liked by his fellow classmates and teachers. During his attendance at CAT, he won several perfect attendance awards and won student of the quarter in his junior year.

He was awarded a community service award for the Coatesville Concrete Sidewalk Project in 2004.

Additionally, he won a performance award for exemplified qualities of SKILLS USA in the District 4 Championships for Masonry skills in 2006.


Joshua was employed by PM D'Onofrio Concrete of Malvern, where he enjoyed the friendship of his co-workers and foreman.

Joshua learned and developed his archery skills at Leon�s Archery Shop of Coatesville, where Leon took him under his wing. The family appreciates the passion and skills Leon showed Joshua.

Joshua was a member of the Pennsylvania Longbow Association and was a very active member of the West Caln Sportsmen Club, where he served as a chairman on the fish committee and was active with traditional archery. His family would like to thank all his friends at the West Caln Sportsmen�s Club; they were not only mentors, they were family. His life revolved around them, and as parents we cannot thank them enough.
In addition to his parents, Joshua is survived by three brothers, Chad N., Jordan R. and Christian D. Barber; a sister, Savannah L. Barber; maternal grandparents, Anthony E. and Linda E. Morris; maternal great-grandfather, Carl Hepp; and paternal grandmother, Onzelle V. Barber.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, George (Pete) Stone, and paternal grandfather, George L. Barber.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, June 1, at the Harris-Mountain Funeral Home, 1030 E. Lincoln Highway. Family and friends may call on Thursday, May 31, from 6 to 8 p.m., and on Friday, June 1, from 9 to 11 a.m.
Interment will be in Hopewell United Methodist Cemetery, East Brandywine.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Joshua Cory Barber Scholarship Fund, c/o Fulton Bank, 1267 Horseshoe Pike, Downingtown, PA 19335, Attn: Tim Drapeau. This scholarship will be for students who wish to further their education in the masonry field or wildlife conservation, which was Joshua's passion.
