Catherine S. Askin, 89, of Hawesville, formerly of Hardinsburg, died Monday, Aug. 27, 2007, at her home. She retired from The Farmers Bank and was a member of St. Romuald Catholic Church. She is survived by her sister, Nancy Meserve of Hawesville; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Romuald Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is from 3:30 to 8 p.m. today and after 8:30 a.m. Thursday at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home.

She was born in Hancock Co., KY on February 19, 1918, the daughter of the late John E. & Tula Hatfield Sinclair. She was a member of St. Romuald Catholic Church, Hawesville Homemakers and Circle II. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and traveling. She retired from The Farmers Bank in Hardinsburg, KY. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Ruppert Askin, a sister, Johnny Mae Blandford and a brother, Kenneth Sinclair. She is survived by: a sister, Nancy Meserve of Hawesville, KY; several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 30, 2007 at 11 a.m. at St. Romuald Catholic Church with Fr. Tony Bickett officiating. Burial will be in the St. Romuald Cemetery. Visitation on Wednesday at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home from 3:30 - 8:00 p.m. and after 8:30 a.m. Thursday.
