DR. CLAY W. BENNETT, is a native of Green county, born July 9, 1865, to Felix and Catharine (Bell) Bennett. He attended the Monroe schools, and in 1888 he was graduated from the Chicago College of Dental Surgery. He set up in the practice of his profession the same year in Monroe, and here he has lived and labored to the present time.

Dr. Bennett and Miss Ida Roderick, a daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth (Newman) Roderick, were married Feb. 5, 1890. Three children have been born to them as of this writing: Byron R., Catherine E., and one child who died in infancy. [A fourth child, Jacob Roderick Bennett was born to them in 1904.]

Dr. and Mrs. Bennett belong to the Christian Church, and he is a member of the Knights of Pythias. He is an active worker in the Wisconsin Dental Society, and also in the Southern Wisconsin Dental Society. The Doctor has been a Democrat, and knows the reason of the faith that is in him. He has been the recipient of complimentary notice on the part of his professional associates, and in 1899 was elected president of the State Dental Society. Dr. and Mrs. Bennett occupy a pleasant home on East Russell street, which has become the center of many social and friendly interests.
