Athlete, author, actor. Canadian bodybuilder best remembered for her 1986 1st place finish at the Canadian National Championships. She went on to compete at the 1988 International Federation of Body Building [IFBB] North American Heavyweight Championships, placing 2nd to Sandra Blackie; the 1990 IFBB Ms. Olympia Competition, placing 17th, and the 1990 IFBB Arnold Classic where she placed 5th. After retiring from the bodybuilding competition circuit she applied her knowledge to other mediums, authoring two books and numerous freelance articles on the subject of fitness and nutrition. Her first book, "Sliced", was co-authored with Bill Reynolds in 1991, followed by "Supervixen: Secrets for Building a Lean and Sexy Body" in 1995. In 1996 she appeared in the movie, "Safety Zone" with Loren Avedon. Later she would co-host a television show on Canada's Balance TV digital cable network. Best known outside of bodybuilding circles as the personal trainer and fiancée of actor Gregory Hines who predeceased her in 2003.

NEGRITA MARIA JAYDE (TRUSZYK) After a courageous battle with Cancer we are saddened to announce Negrita Maria's passing on August 28th, 2009. Beloved daughter of Michael and Carmela Truszyk. Loving sister of Ola (Gus) and Tina (Bob). Adoring aunt of Alanna and Michael. She will also be missed by her lifelong friend, Gunnar Sikk. We take great comfort in knowing that Negrita has now gone on to join her love Gregory Hines. Resting at the Cardinal Funeral Home, 92 Annette Street (East of Keele) on Monday from 5-9 p.m. with Panachyda at 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Holy Protection (30 Leeds Street). Interment to follow at St. Volodymyr Cemetery in Oakville. The family would also like to extend a special thanks to Ruth, Anna and Gil for their unwavering loyalty and support.
