William L. Cohee was born Aug. 2, 1839 in Kent County, Delaware. His parents are Hinson G. Cohee (1790-1848) and Nancy Ann Longfellow (1799-1854) both of Delaware. Sometime after the 1860 and before 1862, William moved to Rush Co., Indiana. He married Elizabeth David on Oct. 28, 1862 in Rush Co., Indiana. They had 10 children (as stated in 1900 and 1910 census). Children: William P., George W., Frank Edgar, John Elmer, Laura, Flora J., Urnest, Eva Pearl, William Bert and possibly a daughter named Arlene. Only 6 lived to adulthood.
In the 1870 William was living in Union Twp., Howard Co., Indiana. In 1920 in Liberty Twp., Indiana after the death of his wife in 1918.
He is buried in Greenlawn Cemetery in Greentown, Howard Co., Indiana sharing a headstone with Elizabeth.
