Mrs. Ona Ballard of Gatesville died Jan. 17 in a local nursing home. She was 84.
Graveside services were held Jan. 19 at Restland Cemetery with Rev. Rex Tilly officiating. Scott's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She was born July 19, 1910 in San Saba County. In 1928, she married Mr. Luke Ballard, and he preceded her in death in 1960. She was also preceded in death by three sons, Harvel Lee Ballard in 1950, Dudley Ray Ballard in 1962, and Larry Mitchell Ballard in 1993.
She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Survivors include one son, William "Sonny" Ballard of Gatesville; two sisters, Katie Bates of Gatesville and Margie Stephens of Hamilton; six grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren.
