Wyatt Chancey Sr.
Services for Wyatt G. Chancey Sr, 94, of Route 1, Pollok, are scheduled for 2:30pm Sunday in the Pollok Baptist Church with Rev Jackie Burkett officiliating and burial in Pollok Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Gibson Funeral Home until 1pm Sunday.
Mr Chancey died Friday night in a local hospital after a long illness. He was born in Angelina County October 6, 1877 and had resided in this county all his life. He was the son of pioneer countains George Washington Chancey and Missouri Vaughn Chancey. Mr Chancey was a pioneer farmer, rancher, and lawman noted for his service to the needy citegens of the community. He was a member of the Pollok Baptist Church.
Survivors: four daughters: Mrs Knox Ivie of Lufkin, Mrs VK Martin of Austin, Mrs Mallyadean Billingsley of Dallas, and Mrs Jackson Davis of Seattle, Washington; three son: Wyatt G Jr of Pollok, Arthur of DeQueney, La, and Norris G of Pasadena. Twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

*Note: Anothe source has provided the fact that Wyatt was born in Boden, Angelina Co;. Tx. She did also say that he died in Pollok, but his obit has him dying in a local hospital which is Lufkin.
