Private, Company B, 85th New York Volunteer Infantry

Born circa 1845 in the Town of Canadice, Ontario Co., NY to Patrick and Cordelia "Delia" (FRANCISCO) Brogan. Enlisted at Canadice and was mustered in 7 September, 1861. James was taken prisoner at Plymouth, NC on 20 April, 1864 and was then transferred to Andersonville where he died on 11 November, 1864.
