Professional Football Player. For nine seasons (1963 to 1971), he played as a left cornerback, left safety and punter in the American and National Football Leagues with the Denver Broncos, Buffalo Bills and Boston/New England Patriots. Born Thomas Alvin Janik, he attended Poth High School (Texas) and played collegiate football at Texas A&M and later Texas A&M-Kingsville. He was a member of the 1965 AFL champion Bills team and achieved Pro Bowl status two-times (1965 and 1967). In 1967, he was tied with Miller Farr (Houston) and Dick Westmoreland (Miami) for the league lead in the AFL with 10 interceptions. Janik was chosen by Denver during the 3rd round of the 1963 NFL Draft and appeared in 114 career regular season games. He recorded 25 interceptions for 557 yards with 6 touchdowns. In addition, he recorded 253 punts for a total 9,890 yards with a 39.1 average.
