Mrs. Carrie Strickland Allen , 74 , died MOnday morning at the local Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

A native of Ware County and a daughter of the late Johnny Strickland and Missouri Ann Woodard.

Carrie was a former school teacher, a member of the Blackshear Presbyterian Church and had resided in Pierce County most of her life.
Carrie and her husband W. Riley Allen just celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1978 .

She is survived by her husband William Riley Allen of Pierce County
two daughters:
Mrs. Brownie Smyre of Gastonia, NC
Mrs. Patricia Aunan of Lake Bluff, NY
two sons:
Raymond M. Allen of Greenville, SC
William Riley 'Butch' Allen Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 2 pm at the Blackshear Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Riley Covin and Rev. Terry Dyer following entombed burial into the Greenlawn Mausoleum.
