Carlos was the son of Ziola M. (Izquierdo) Lagomarsino , and the dear brother of Jose H. Izquierdo of San Francisco California; the son of Alberto F. Baldizon of Guatemala City, Guatamala, and he enlisted in the US Marine Corps on December 27, 1968 in Oakland California. Carlos arrived in Vietnam on June 27, 1969 where he was assigned to Company and served with Company A, 1st Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st MARDIV (Rein) FMF.

During an Battalion operation in the "Arizona Territory" PFC Baldizon left the Company perimeter near the village of Dai Khuong, in Duc Duc District. On his return, a sentry hearing movement near his position, mistook Baldizon for an enemy intruder and opened fire. PFC Baldizon was hit and killed as a result of the Marine sentry's rife fire.
