August Howard Barnes, 78, 1236 Indiana Ave., died Tues Evening at St. John's Hospital after an extended illness.
A native of Lafayette Township, he was a lifelong resident of Anderson and retired in 1962 from Delco-Remy Division after 43 years of service.
A veteran of World War I, he was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church, World War I Barracks, Whetstone Brotherhood and Sisterhood, Anniversary Club and Friendly Club at the First United Methodist Church.
Surviving is the wife Eva.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. M. A. McClure officiating. Entombment will be in the Elm Ridge Cemetery in Muncie.
Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Rowe and Weston Funeral Home.
