Louis R. Falk, 75, Passes on Monday
Louis Reinhart Falk, 75, a resident of the valley for 51 years, succumbed Monday at his home on Route 1, Halsey, following a long illness.
Services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Halsey Methodist church, the Rev. J. C. Johannes officiating. Fisher Funeral home has charge of arrangements.
Singers will be Mrs. Ralph Wade and Mrs. Clifford Bass, with Mrs. Merwin Vannice as arganist. In charge of floral arrangements are Mrs. Willard Keen, Mrs. Charles Bierly and Mrs. Fred Turrell.
Nephews of the deceased will be pallbearers, Andrew Falk, Everett Falk, Leslie Falk, Omar Falk, Rawley Falk, and Kenneth Bierley.
Born in Wisconsin, he moved with his parents to Iowa when a boy. In 1903 he came to Oregon, where he farmed in the Halsey district until his death. In 1909 he was married at Halsey to Anna Elizabeth Drane, who survives.
Also surviving are nine children: Mrs. Alva Thomson of Santa Clara, Calif.; Mrs. Betty Jean Alexander of Bisbee, Aziz.; Mrs. Luella Starnes of Culver, Ore.; Mrs. Ardella Reese of Portland; Charles D. Falk of Burns; Delmar and Stanley Falk of Halsey, and Mrs. Edna Porter and Louis R. Falk of Brownsville.
Other survivors include seven brothers and sisters, Christopher, Charlie and Willie Falk of Halsey, Adolph Falk of Monmouth, Mrs. Julia Swanson of Minnesota and Mrs. Rosa D. Bierly of Brownsville; 20 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
