Elizabeth Robbins, dau. of Sgt. Richard Robbins and Mary Curtis, b. of record July 4, 1723 in Wethersfield, Conn. She d. Sept. 25, 1775 in Pittsfield, Mass., Æ 53 (g.s.)

On June 27, 1745 in Wethersfield, Conn. Elizabeth m. 1) Stephen Williams, Jr., s. of Sgt. Stephen Williams and Abigail Butler, whose birth is not recorded in the printed Wethersfield town records. However, probate records of both Sgt. Stephen Williams, Sr. and son Stephen prove the family relationship. Stephen Williams, Jr. d. intestate before Aug. 2, 1748, the date the widow Elizabeth was appointed administrator. Stephen's estate totalled a net sum in excess of £1,000, including a dwelling house and land valued at £800.

One child was born by Elizabeth's first marriage, son Oswald on Oct. 16, 1746 in Wethersfield. Oswald would relocate to Pittsfield, Mass. with his mother and stepfather, marry Mary Brattle in Pittsfield, achieve the rank of Captain in the Rev. War, and d. in Pittsfield in October 1831 after rearing a family of 10 children.

On Dec. 21, 1749 in Wethersfield, the widow Elizabeth (Robbins) Williams, without being called the widow Williams in the marriage record, m. her four+ year younger 3rd cousin Josiah Wright, youngest s. of Dea. Ebenezer Wright and Sarah Butler, b. of record June 16, 1728 in Wethersfield. Two children were born of record in Wethersfield before the family moved in 1753 to Pittsfield, Mass.

Elizabeth Robbins is named in her father's 1737 will and Elizabeth (Robbins) (Williams) Wright's identity is further proved by the 1753 Wethersfield, Conn. probate record of her widowed mother, Martha (Curtis) Robbins. Although Martha d. intestate, her inventory taken Sept. 13, 1753 totaled a very healthy £3,495.17.11. On Nov. 6, 1754 Martha's estate was equally divided to her heirs in the following order: To only son John; to Mary Robbins (wife of her cousin Nathaniel Robbins); to Rachel Stillman (wife of John Stillman); to Esther Wright (widow of John Williams now wife of Dea. Elizur Wright); to Elizabeth Wright (widow of Stephen Williams now wife of Josiah Wright); to Experience Hollister (wife of Elisha Hollister); and Martha Williams (wife of her cousin Moses Williams.) Each single share totalled £431.3.8 in a combination of real and moveable estate.

When the estate of Elizabeth's first husband is combined with the division from her mother's estate, and assuming the Williams estate was converted into money, when Elizabeth and second husband Josiah Wright relocated to Pittsfield, Mass. they did so with considerable wealth in-hand.

The known family of Josiah Wright and Elizabeth Robbins is outlined in husband Josiah Wright's memorial.
