Genora Genevieve Wade Brightwell, 80, of Batesville died Thursday, March 6, 2003, in a local hospital.

Born Sept. 26, 1922, in Rosie, she was the daughter of Thomas Crockett Wade and Tommie Odell Hyatt Wade. She was a homemaker and a Protestant.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Betty Brightwell of Melbourne and Mark and Kerrie Brightwell of Cave City; three daughters and sons-in-law, Norma and Gary Barber and Cathy and Thomas Staik, all of Batesville, and Patti and Kent Burns of Fort Belvoir, Va.; a brother, John Kennley Wade of California; 10 grandchildren, Angela Barber Clark and husband Scott, Andrew Barber and wife Jessica, Catherine Burns Jenkins and husband Terry, Jennifer Burns Gurss and husband Seth, Daniel Brightwell and wife Buffy, David Brightwell, Brittany Staik, Whitney Staik, Wade Brightwell and Micah Brightwell; four great-grandchildren, Brody Clark, Makenna Clark, Brandon Jenkins and Ellie Gurss; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Oda Brightwell; three brothers, Milburn Wade, Tom Wade and Estes Wade; a sister, Cecil Maynard; and a grandson, Gary Wesley Barber.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home Chapel in Batesville with John High officiating. Burial will be at Campground Cemetery in Bethesda.

Pallbearers will be Scott Clark, Daniel Brightwell, David Brightwell, Andrew Barber, Gary Young and Roger Schnyer.

Honorary pallbearers will be Wade Brightwell, Micah Brightwell, Seth Gurss and Terry Jenkins.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight.
