The Zanesville (OH) Signal, September 14, 1959:
John P. Schott, 75, of Ava died Monday at 2:45 a.m. in Cambridge Community Hospital after an extended illness.
The son of Peter and Margaret Yeagle Schott, he was born near Fulda on Aug. 12, 1884. Mr. Schott, a retired timber worker, was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church of Belle Valley.
He leaves his widow, Mrs. Julia Schott, four daughters, Mrs. Florence Krofft of near Zanesville, Mrs. Mary Evelyn Hesson of Elba, Mrs. Wilma Dolney of Canton and Mrs. Eloise Miller of Elkhart, Ind. one son, Edgar Schott of Sebring; two sisters, Mrs. Molly Roehrig of Caldwell Route 4 and Mrs. Veronica Kress of Caldwell, one brother, Clarence Schott of Caldwell, 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
The body was taken to the McVay Funeral Home in Caldwell, where it will remain until the hour of service. The rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Services will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church by Rev. Fr. James A. Dirker. Burial will be in Olive Cemetery. Courtesy Ed Miller
