Raymond S. (G) Maurer a guest of the Valley View Home died Monday, Jan. 22, 1979 in the home, after an extended illness. Mr. Maurer retired on disability as a helper from the Pennsylvania Railroad's Samuel Rea shops, Hollidaysburg. He was born April 6, 1910, in Juniata Gap, the son of Sherwood M. and Irene L. (Burkhart) Maurer, and married Rose M. Pekar. Surviving are his wife, four children, Sherwood, Dennis, and Robert of Altoona and Mrs. Rebecca Walls in New Mexico, a stepson, Paul Baker of Chicago, Ill.; three grandchildren and six brothers and sisters, Mrs. Violet Youhas, Mrs. Alice Holton and F. Kessler of Juniata Gap, Cecil W. of Newry, Norman C. of Hollidaysburg, and Leon W. of Parkersburg, W. Va. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday in the Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Juniata.
