Driver Moss lived in the High Street, Great Wakering, and had been employed at the Shoebury brickfields until his enlistment in April 1915 at Southend, even though he was 48. In a lower medical category, he was stationed at Woolwich and latterly at Weedon. Following an injury he required an operation which had recently been performed, and was apparently recovering when he contracted double pneumonia and died on the 10th September 1918. He left a widow, L. Moss, daughter, and twin sons aged 14.
