Ricky Northup
Ricky R. Northup, 42, of Dallas City, Ill., died at 12:50 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009, at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.

Born Dec. 11, 1966, in Burlington, he was the son of Harold and Judith A. Jones Northup Sr.

Mr. Northup had worked for G.E. Co. in Burlington since 1992. He was a 1985 graduate of Dallas City High School. He served as a coach for Lomax Little League baseball and taught the Hunters Safety Course. He enjoyed attending car shows, riding his motorcycle, hunting and fishing.

Survivors include one son, Nathan Tyler Northup; one daughter, Neely Anne Northup of Dallas City; his father; one brother, Harold Northup Jr.; his grandmother, Velva Jones of Carthage, Ill.; one niece; and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his mother, his paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

The funeral for Mr. Northup will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Nichols officiating. Burial will be in the Durham Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for his children's education.
