NOTE: James E. DuVall was born James Edward 11/30/1841 in Baltimore. His parents were Thomas Jefferson DuVall and Jane Foreman DuVall. He fought for the Confederacy during the Civil War and at his surrender, was ordered north of the Mason-Dixon by the US Attorney General. He moved to Philadelphia and never returned to Baltimore, which is where his family is from. His younger brother Charles Wesley DuVall, Sr. is my great-great-grandfather. James' wife's names was Katharine Sankey - the were married in May 1868 according to the family bible. He was a carpenter and lived at 2108 Columbia Avenue (now Cecil B. Ward Avenue between 21st and 22nd) in Ward 29 at the time of his death.
