Funeral for George R. Ray Atchison, 81, of Fort Worth was Nov. 29 at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Tom McClintock officiated. Burial followed at Pleasant Grove Cemetery No. 2.
Atchison died Thursday Nov. 25, 2004, in Fort Worth.
Born March 5, 1923, in Paris, Ark., he was a retired electrician for Textron in Fort Worth and a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, a daughter, Ranelle Willis, and a stepson, Earl Peters.
He is survived by a son, David Atchison and wife, Nancy, of Arlington; a daughter, Diane McGee and husband, Emmett, of Fort Worth; two stepdaughters, Linda Colvard and Sharon Shipley; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Brian Tate, David Smith, Landon Atchison and Ed Stephens.
