Lucy Flora Stone was the daughter of Joseph Stone of Greenwich, Massachusetts, and Lucy (Towne) Stone of Dana, Massachusetts. That she was born in Dana was attested by her children on her death record, but her birth record was only found in a family Bible. Her marriage was recorded in a small keepsake book in which she also recorded the births of her children. Because her mother's name was also Lucy, she usually went by her middle name Flora. She resided in Prescott, Massachusetts, most of her life. Workmen at the mill testified that she made the best chicken and biscuits. She was the mother of six children, the first of whom died two months after his eighth birthday and was buried with his grandparents Brown. She died at age 81 at the home of her daughter Mrs. Gladys Hubbard. She was buried at North Prescott, now Mountain View Cemetery in South New Salem, Massachusetts.
