Ida came to America when she was one year old. Her mother and two older siblings followed her father, William, to Pocatello in 1912. They left Coalisland and departed Londonderry, Ireland aboard the ship S.S.California on April 6, 1912 and arrived at Ellis Island, New York on April 15, 1912. The manifest also lists their last residence as with an Uncle Mark Brooks of Ballnacally Coalisland.
The White family started and ran a family dairy farm, the Maple Leaf Dairy.
