He was a lifetime resident of Delaware County. He worked as a house parent for the Whitaker State Children's Home, Pryor. He had owned a Texaco service station and bus station for a number of years in Jay. He was a teacher at Consistory School for Masonic Lodge as well as a member. He was a member of the Tulsa Shrine. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was one of the first volunteer fireman in Jay. He was an avid wolf hunter. He had also been an Oklahoma State Legislator.
