Lowell Wayne Perryman Sr., 88, retired Perryman Grocery owner, died Monday. Visitation 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Kennedy-Amis-Kennard Funeral Home, and service 2 p.m. Thursday, Woodcrest Baptist Church.

Lowell Wayne Perryman, Sr. was born on July 1, 1921 in Plaid, MO to Vernie and Nola Perryman. He married Jewell Addeane Baker on November 26, 1941. He moved his family to Catoosa, OK in 1954.

He was employed by Harris-Vogal Tobacco, then R&R Tobacco. While working at R&R he purchased Baker's Grocery along with his brother-in-law, Otha Baker and it became Baker/Perryman Grocery, eventually becoming Perryman's Grocery. Wayne loved his family very much. He also loved going to sporting events, fishing and O.U. football. Wayne went to be with the Lord October 12, 2009.

He was preceded in death by his father Vernie Perryman; mother Nola Perryman; wife of 52 years, "Dean" Perryman; sisters: Wilma Newton and Mary Villareal; and grandson Leonard McMillan. He is survived by one brother Cecil Perryman of Catoosa; two sons and daughters-in-law: Butch and Sue Perryman, Jim and Carolyn Perryman; one daughter Sandra Heape, all of Catoosa; seven grandchildren: Terri Wright and husband Larry, Shelli Armstrong and husband Johnny, Sherri Jackson, Staci Smith and husband Doug, Jim Perryman, Jr. and wife Ryan, Amanda Holden and husband John, all of Catoosa, Teresa Nash and husband Shane of Parsons, KS; sixteen great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 5-7PM Wednesday, October 14; service: 2PM Thursday, October 15, 2009 at Woodcrest Baptist Church; interment: Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
