Robert L. Brummond, 60, of Whitney, Texas, Formerly of South Sioux City, Nebraska, died of Cancer Friday, March 7, 1997
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sun Country Resort Recreation Hall in Whitney. The body will be cremated. Burial will be in Fort McPherson National Cemetery.
Mr. Brummond was born in Dakota City, the son of Jack and Nellie Brummond. He attended school in South Sioux City, Pender, Nebraska, and Tucson, Arizona.
He joined the U.S. Army and spent 20 years in the military, retiring from the U.S. Air Force in 1974 at Denver, Colorado.
He moved back to the South Sioux City area, where he operated a stock and grain trucking business. He also operated an aluminum smelting business until 1984, when he retired and became a fulltime R.V.er
Survivors include his wife, Norda, of Whitney, Texas; two brothers and their wives, Bill and Bev of South Sioux City, Nebraska and Jim and Barb of Sioux City, Iowa; a stepdaughter, Ruth Spoonermore; a stepson and his wife Rod and Bonnie Spoonermore; and two grandchildren, Jesse and Codee Spoonermore, all of Portland, Oregon.
