WILLIAMSBURG - On July 29, 1973, at 6:56 a.m., a beacon of light shone in the image of an angel named Tarika Lolita Blizzard. Born to parents Lawrence and Sandra Blizzard, Tarika was a gifted child walking and talking by the time she was 9 months old. She had a hunger for knowledge and was a brilliant child who read on the third grade level in the first grade. She attended Frances Asbury and Benjamin Syms Schools where she was involved in several programs.
Tarika attended Kecoughtan High School where she was a formidable member of the forensics club. Upon graduation, she entered the U.S Army Reserve and Norfolk State University where she excelled in Academia, receiving several scholarships. Tarika was a proud member of the Gamma Nu Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., until several bouts of TTP sidelined her activities.

During her career, Tarika held several positions to include customer service advocate for the City of Hampton, Coleman and Associates for Verizon, Secretary for the Surry County Historical Society and Executive Assistant to the Vice President of the Colonial Wlliamsburg Foundation.
Tarika was a member of the Nottoway Indian Tribe of Virginia. Taraika made long lasting friendships with her former co-workers. One former co-worker would later become the love of her life, Juan Green. Tarika and Juan, active members of Full Gospel Kingdom Church, where they were very involved in the programs sponsored by their pastor, Bishop Felton Hawkins.

On Oct. 25, 2006, Juan Green and Tarika became husband and wife, along with Jasmine, Juan's daughter, they became a loving and caring family. Together they formed the spoken word team of 'Slim & Blizz' and composed the CD entitled 'Testimonial Vibe'. Tarika and Juan have appeared in several venues including Georgetown University, and many church festivals and civic organizations to share their life in the spirit.

Tarika and Juan learned that Tarika was pregnant in March after an episode of TTP.

They never wavered in their faith. They lived their lives to the glory of God. They felt the presence in their lives and knew that regardless of the outcome of the situation everything would be okay.

Tarika knew the risks associated with her pregnancy, trusted in God, and was willing to give everything for her family. On Sept. 13, 2008, seven months pregnant, joyously waiting to have her baby, Tarika gave herself for the good of her very much loved daughter, Bailey Jade Green.
