Galen Ray Sanders, 66, of Poteau died Friday, Oct. 2, 2009, in Tulsa. He was born Feb. 24, 1943, in Fort Smith.

Mr. Sanders is survived by four children, Catlen and Ashley Sanders and Chris and Jason Smith; two sisters, Lana Ruch and Rosemary Brewington; a brother, Jim Sanders; his stepmother, Polly Sanders; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Graveside service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 6, 2009, at Oak Valley Cemetery south of Lavaca under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home of Poteau.
