SHREVEPORT, LA – Graveside services for Joel Alfred Bunch, 83, will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 30, 1999 at Rose-Neath Cemetery. Officiating will be Chaplain Bryan Bazer.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 29, from 5 p.m. til 8 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 8 p.m. by the Forty et Eight at Rose-Neath Bossier Chapel with Chaplain James Brooks officiating. Burial will be at Rose-Neath Cemetery with Barksdale Air Force Base Honor Guard.
Mr. Burch died Thursday, May 27, 1999 at the V.A. Hospital in Shreveport. He was born in Kingston, AR and was a resident of Shreveport, LA. Mr. Bunch was the Correspondant National of the La Societe Des Quarante Hommes Et Huit Chevaux. He was also the State Adjutant of the Arkansas American Legion. Mr. Bunch was a pilot in the 8th Air Force. He was shot down over Germany and was a POW for two years. He received the Purple Heart.
He was preceded in death by his son, Joel A. Bunch, II.
Survivors are his wife, Grace L. Bunch of Shreveport; one son, William L. "Bill" Bunch and wife, Kim of Boulder, CO; six grandchildren, Sarah Bunch, Hannah Bunch, Wyatt Bunch, Nicholas Bunch, Chris Bunch and Ben Bunch; number of nieces, nephews and other family.
Pallbearers will be BAFB Honor Guard.
Memorials may be made to the Charles Ardery Child Welfare Trust or the George W. Bolan Nurses Training Trust, 777 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN 46204.
