Mrs. Evie Davis, 82, died Dec. 26 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. P. Merriwether, at 140 Reed street, Lanett. Services were held Monday from the Texas Camp Ground in Heard county. Burial was in the churchyard, conducted by Johnson and Blakely.
Born in Heard county, Mrs. Davis had lived for the past two years with her daughter in Lanett. She was a member of the Prospect Methodist church, in Heard county.
The survivors are six daughters, Mrs. Merriwether; Mrs. D. H. Thaxton of Carrollton, Mrs. Andrew Gore and Mrs. Margaret Lipham, both of Akron, Ohio, Mrs. Joe Stephens and Mrs. Lee Hill, both of Franklin; six sons, J. A. of Akron; R.E., R. P., R. L., T. J., and W. B., all of Franklin. 56 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
