Mrs. Rosa Marion Rock Adams, 89, of Salisbury, N.C., died Friday, February 2, 2007 at Genesis Eldercare of Salisbury. She was born in Richmond, Va. on September 26, 1917 and moved to Salisbury, N.C. in 1999. Her parents were the late Walter Norris and Betty Louisa Wilcox Rock of Richmond, Va.

Mrs. Adams was a graduate of John Marshall High School in Richmond, Va. She attended Stallings Memorial Baptist Church. Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Alexander Adams Sr.

She is survived by sons, Joseph Alexander Adams Jr. and wife, Stella of Hilton Head, S.C.; Larry Scott Adams and wife, Lynn of Goshen, Ky.; and daughter, Marian Ann Adams Spain and husband, Carl of Salisbury; and brother, Walter Hilton Rock Sr. and wife, Catherine of Richmond, Va. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Julie Adams Dafler and husband, Doug of Hilton Head, S.C., David Alan Spain of Greensboro, N.C., James Elwyn Spain and wife, Melissa of Angier, N.C., Stephanie Adams Phillips and husband, Brian of Holly Springs, N.C., Jeffrey Scott Adams and wife, Kelly of Richmond, Va., Lucas Ward Adams and Jacob Alexander Adams, both of Goshen, Ky.; ten great-grandchildren, Alex, Taylor, Connor, Katie, Andrew, Garrett, Nicole, Klara, Mackenzie and Joey.

A visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, February 4, 2007 at Summersett Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. in the Summersett Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Robert Heard, minister of Stallings Memorial Baptist Church, officiating. A graveside service and burial will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday at Dale Memorial Park in Chesterfield Co., Va.
